The Orlando Museum of Art (Facebook | Website) has announced that it will be temporarily closed for an impromptu “summer break.”

The museum will be closed from Monday, August 16 through September 24 to prepare for its upcoming exhibition installations, which require some minor gallery renovations.

Upcoming exhibitions include a showcase of work by Jean-Michel Basquiat in February 2022, photography by renowned Florida photographer Clyde Butcher, Cathedrals of Florida, and Luces y Sombras, a collection of photography from Mexico spanning from 1930.

The museum shop is also in the process of being “reimagined” according to the museum’s Director of Marketing and Communications, Emilia Bourmas-Fry.
