The Orlando Museum of Art (Facebook Website) announced in early August that it would be temporarily closing its doors in order to carry out some much-needed refreshes of its galleries and museum store. It has since reopened with three new exhibitions that shouldn’t be missed.

The Museum reopened to the public this past Saturday, with all-new exhibitions including a showcase of the European Old Master Painting Collection from the Bob Jones University Museum and Gallery (one of the largest and most comprehensive of its kind in the country) and includes work from Botticelli, Rembrandt, O’Keefe, and even a Ninja Turtle; photography by renowned Florida photographer Clyde Butcher, Cathedrals of Florida; and Luces y Sombrasa collection of photography from Mexico spanning from 1930.

All of the galleries have been gussied-up and refreshed and the museum shop has been rebranded as the “OMA Design Store” and completely redone with new merchandise and curated artworks from local creatives.

Orlando Museum of Art recently made headlines with the announcement that they would be adding a rooftop Chihuly sculpture garden to their new venue that will be built in downtown Orlando in the next few years.
