On Friday, October 22 at 9 p.m., author Grady Hendrix will host a virtual workshop on what he describes as “a guided tour of murder books and movies” via the Orange County Library System.

Hendrix is the New York Times bestselling author of multiple books, including My Best Friend’s Exorcism, HorrorstörThe Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires, and The Final Girl Support Group

In 2018, Hendrix won the Bram Stroker Award for Best Non-Fiction for Paperbacks from Hell: The Twisted History of ‘70s and ‘80s Horror Fiction

His latest novel is The Final Girl Support Group. It takes place in a world where so-called final girls – the girls who are still breathing at the end of a horror film – are real, and not only famous for surviving massacres, but also for the slasher films they have inspired. Several of his books are in the process of being adapted into movies and television shows. The Final Girl Support Group was recently acquired for HBO Max and will be produced by Academy Award winner Charlize Theron and Andy and Barbara Muschietti.

Hendrix will be joining the Orange County Library System for a virtual author event on Friday, October 22, at 9 p.m. This free event is open to Orange County Library cardholders ages 18 years and older. It will be held on Zoom and registration is required. To register, visit https://attend.ocls.info/event/5587253.
