UPDATE: We’ve reached out to the Orange County Convention Center for confirmation on the location and they sent us the following statement.

“This event organizer has requested a lease to be executed for West Hall E1 at the Orange County Convention Center from Nov. 15 through Jan. 16, 2022. The lease will need to be signed by the client and confirmed in our internal system to appear on the OCCC calendar.”

The hype machine has been working overtime for the past few months on a pop-up art event marketed as the “Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit,” which would, well, immerse guests in 360-degrees of projected works of art by the post-humous art celeb, on part of a multi-city tour across the continent.

Event producers, Lighthouse Immersive, have been pumping up a cloud of mystery around the event since they announced it would be coming to Orlando, declaring that it would be hosted in a secret historic venue in downtown Orlando. And people have been buying tickets for the event regardless, giving into the buzz around the show.

Well, festival organizers finally let their ticketholders know where the event would be held, three days before the expected opening on October 7th; the Orange County Convention Center’s West Concourse, “… an extraordinary space in Orlando.”

The announcement also came with an apology and the news that the opening would be postponed until November so the team would have time to make “…artistic improvements to the functionality of the projections.” Very technical.

Ticket holders were instructed that they will be receiving new tickets due to the date changes within the day but that they can email [email protected] to ask for a refund if they can’t make it.

You can click HERE to purchase tickets in advance starting at $39.99 or you can wait and see what happens when/if they open.

There has been a spike in events like this, inspired by a scene in the series, Emily in Paris. Read more about the phenomenon HERE.

  1. “A historic downtown location” and it’s the Convention Center?
This is a building from 1983 – how is that consider historic?
It is also on I-Drive – who considers that to be downtown?
Very disappointing. I’m glad I didn’t buy tickets.

  2. Still not sure we didn’t get scammed. ☹️ Our tickets were for 10/7 and now we wait until Thanksgiving?
