The Orange County Board of County Commissioners voted last month to award $13.18 million to developers who are proposing to build four separate multi-family affordable housing developments in the region.

The new Affordable Housing Trust Fund Program will allow for the construction of 525 new affordable housing units in the following projects.

  • Banyan Development Group is building a $31.5 million project near the northeastern corner of West Colonial and North Pine Hills Road, within walking distance to Barnett Park.
  • Emerald Villas Phase 3 is a $21.6 million project that will consist of 90 units near Evans High School in Pine Hills.
  • Southwick Commons is a $52.8 million project that will place 195 units in the Apopka City Center.
  • The Enclave at Canopy Park is a $23 million project that will place 84 units at the southeast corner of 45th Street and Rio Grande Avenue.
