EDIT: Contrary to a release sent by Orlando Ballet, they will not be the first performance at Steinmetz Hall. The new venue is expected to open in January 2022 with a lineup featuring names like Leon Bridges and Jennifer Hudson.

The long-awaited opening of Steinmetz Hall is nigh, with the announcement of its first scheduled event in February 2022.

Orlando Ballet hosted a press conference earlier this week where they shared that they will be performing Giselle in the new Steinmetz Hall at Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts from Thursday, February 10, through Sunday, February 13.

The performance will feature live music by the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra and conducted by Kansas City Ballet’s musical director, Ramona Pansegrau, and will put Steinmetz Hall’s much-anticipated acoustics to the test – the entire room essentially floats in a seal that isolates external vibrations and noises so that theatergoers will only hear the sound of the performers.

Giselle tells the story of a peasant girl whose ghost comes back after her death to protect her beloved from a group of evil spirits. Like Ghost but without the sexy pottery … and more dancing.

Tickets for the performance start at $24 and are available HERE.
