Rollins College just broke ground on its new 16,165 SF theater and dance center on its Winter Park campus.

The Tiedtke Theatre and Dance Center will include a custom-built 1,900 SF black box theater and is projected to be complete by 2022, and made possible via a $5 million grant from school trustee, Phil Tiedtke via the Florida Charities Foundation and Sally Albrecht, a graduate from the theater and music programs at Rollins College.

The center was designed by Baker Barrios Architects and will also feature a 2,400 SF costume design and technology lab which will integrate a costume shop, fitting rooms, a draft room, and storage for live productions.

The land was left vacant in 2018 after Rollins demolished its historic Fred Stone Theatre building, when it was found to be structurally unsound and deemed unfit for use.
