J. Henry’s Barber Shop caught fire at 10:54 p.m. Friday, November 12 as Church Street was full of festival-goers making their way to and from the Electric Daisy Carnival at Camping World Stadium.

The Orlando Fire Department believes the fire, which completely destroyed the barbershop, was the result of an electrical shortage as the result of an overloaded electrical outlet.

The owner of J. Henry’s, John Henry, has since stated that he hopes to reopen again soon, though likely somewhere else nearby. Henry was featured on Governor Ron DeSantis’s task force to reopen barbershops following the pandemic shutdown in December 2020.

J. Henry’s Barber Shop is located at 644 W. Church Street [GMap] in the Parramore District.
