The City of Winter Park will host a special ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Winter Park Library and Events Center at 9 a.m. Saturday, December 11.

The free community open house event will run through 3 p.m. to show off the new state-of-the-art facility

“After seven years of meticulous planning, budgeting, imagining, creating, designing and building, we are thrilled to celebrate the grand opening with our residents, partners and guests.”

– CITY MANAGER RANDY KNIGHT

The event will include remarks from city and library leadership, community partners, and special remarks from Sir David Adjaye, the architect behind the library’s showy new design. Immediately following the ribbon-cutting, the rest of the event will include live musical performances, outdoor games, character appearances, storytelling, and a scavenger hunt.

The first day of regular library operations will be Monday, December 13, at 9 a.m.
