A number of local restaurants are choosing to temporarily close their doors this week due to COVID-19 exposure in their staff, as numbers slowly tick up across the county. Most of the restaurants involved, as of the time of this post, have taken the time to observe a longer holiday break and will resume next week following clear test results.

Orange County’s test positivity rate was 4.5% between December 10 and December 16th, though AdventHealth recently reported that its Centra Care system saw its positivity rates climb from 5% to 21% over the last few weeks. 12,915 new cases were reported on Tuesday in the state, according to a recent report by Orlando Sentinel.

According to the CDC, Orange County is currently listed as an area with a high community transmission rate, and people should wear masks when in public, indoor settings to protect themselves.

The following restaurants posted notices of temporary closures on their social platforms.

  1. It’s amazing to see how so many people have dropped their guard..relying on shots and boosters and hopes of all being vaccinated. Even when there is a huge anti vaccination trend still happening. This isn’t enough. Please continue to wear masks…
Especially here in Florida where we are a tourism state.
