Popular local go-kart race track, Lil500 Go Karts (Facebook | Website) has just announced that it will permanently close on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at 7 p.m.

The business, which is located at 150 Atlantic Drive [GMap] in Maitland, has been open for almost 54 years and opened on February 1, 1968. The owner, Randy Kline, has shared that he is closing the business because he has nobody in the family who wanted to take the reigns.

There are currently no plans to sell the land at the time of this post.

  1. Will the unused gocarts be available for purchase. Eyes Eyes would buy a few of the Go Carts for Recreational use. And Legacy Preservation

  2. How depressing. Seems no one wants to take over a “Fa,ily Owned” business any longer. So looks like the days of the “Family Owned and Operated Businesses” are going by way of the Dodo Bird. Extinct. 🙁
