A “Shark Tank”-style event is headed to the Alfond Inn on Thursday, March 3 at 7:30 a.m.
The Storytelling Showcase is an annual event that’s hosted by the Victory Cup Initiative (Website), a Winter Park-based organization led by Ashley Vann that promotes the work of nonprofits in Central Florida.
The event will feature 10 local organizations that will share their stories in 150 seconds in front of an audience of 500 community and business leaders while competing for cash prizes totaling $100,000, with prizes coming in increments of $1,000 to $25,000. The money awarded during the event is completely unrestricted and can be used in a variety of ways to support the winners’ causes.
This year’s organizations include:
- 8 Cents in a Jar, Inc.
- AMI Kids
- Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida
- Down Syndrome Association of Central Florida
- Harbor House of Central Florida, Inc.
- One Purse
- Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida, Inc.
- Steinway Society of Central Florida
- The Mustard Seed of Central Florida, Inc.
Winners will be chosen based on audience participation.
