Renaissance Theatre Company (Website), the new theater that opened in Ivanhoe Village late last year, is currently producing a new musical based on the cult favorite, “Drop Dead Gorgeous” called “Gorgeous.”

The play, written by Donald Rupe, tells the story of the Ms. Golden boot Pageant in a St. Crowd, Florida. It’s billed as “offensive and over-the-top” and features characters like Svedka Stolichnaya the town choreographer and pageant director Breanna Buckley. An abbreviated version of the show first played at Orlando Fringe Festival but has been fully fleshed out to a new full-length version.

Tickets are $25 and can be purchased HERE.

Our intrepid social media arts correspondent, Lisa Bates, was there for opening night.
