Kwame Boakye, the owner of the popular fried chicken restaurant, Chicken Fire (Facebook), has opened a new concept just south of downtown Orlando.

That Wing Spot (Instagram) is a new chicken wing-focused restaurant located right next to Buttercrust Pizza (Instagram Website) at 4777 S. Orange Avenue [GMap] in the Fort Gatlin Plaza. A window decal reading “That Wing Spot” hanging in the windows for the past few weeks was all that hinted at what was coming until the recent soft-open.

That Wing Spot is registered to Boakye’s “Soulful Hospitality” company, which is a reference to his focus on Southern hospitality and cuisine with his own blend of patented spices and family recipe-making magic. It is takeout and delivery only and is currently operating from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.

Boakye’s Nashville-style Chicken Fire restaurant opened its first brick-and-mortar location in December 2020 after finding years of success as a food truck.
