Popular sidewalk vendor, the Vegan Hot Dog Cart (Instagram), has gone brick-and-mortar.

The cart has been a staple of the downtown Orlando drinking scene for over two decades (though with different owners) and was recently purchased by local veggie food hawker and Dixie Dharma owner, Shaun Noonan. Due to restrictions put in place by the City of Orlando, food carts have been all but pushed out of the Central Business District as part of its crackdown on the “street party atmosphere” that city leaders believe is contributing to a spike in crime during the pandemic.

Noonan told Bungalower that he was approached by the team at Sly Fox (Facebook | Instagram), at 63 N. Orange Avenue [GMap], to activate a full kitchen that the bar had had since they opened in the former Dive Bar space in 2015 and that he plans to still use the cart for events.

The new expanded menu has the original vegan hot dogs that people have come to know and love but has also added Impossible burgers, cheeseburgers, tots, fried pickles, onion rings, and more.

The current operating hours are 4 p.m.-2:45 a.m. Wednesday to Sunday.
