Orlando’s favorite karaoke queen, Diane Margeret “DJ Di” Calo, suddenly passed away on April 21, 2022, at the age of 54.
DJ Di was known for having a gregarious personality and great singing voice as well as for hosting award-winning karaoke events for the past 30 years, most notably at Audubon Park institution, Big Daddy’s. Mostly playing ’80s hits. Former Orlando Sentinel reporter Jon Busdeker filmed the below feature on Big Daddy’s DJ Di back in June 2014, which includes interviews with some of her biggest fans and the beloved host.
A memorial service is planned for 3 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Newcomer Funeral Home, at 3806 Howell Branch Road [GMap] in Winter Park.
