The Guatemalan chicken restaurant chain, Pollo Campero (Facebook | Website), has filed paperwork to open a new restaurant location in the SoDo District at 2520 S. Orange Avenue [GMap].
The project will see the renovation of a 2,968 SF building that once housed a Five Guys. The menu features traditional Guatemalan fried or citrus grilled chicken with a variety of addons like empanadas, rice, sweet plantains, yuca fries, and more. The renovations on the property would include restoring a previously existing wall around the patio as well as reopening the drive-thru lane that was closed with the previous tenant.
The new SoDo store would be one of twenty new locations it hopes to open in Centra Florida over the next five years.
This plan is scheduled to be seen by the Municipal Planning Board at an upcoming July 19, 2022 hearing.
