Anthony’s Thornton Park alums and brothers, Mark and John Cavallini, the co-owners of Thornton Park hot spot Cavo’s Bar and Kitchen (Facebook | Website) have partnered with the former owner of 081 Wood Fired Pizza (Facebook), John Markaj, to open a new concept in the SoDo Main Street District.
The new casual Northeastern-inspired pizza shop will open in the former home of Mediterranean Blue at 435 E. Michigan Street [GMap]. The new concept is still in development but we hear it will focus on pizzas (duh) and sandwiches.
Mediterranean Blue closed suddenly on Friday, May 27th after 12 years of business.
An opening timeline was not public at the time of this post.
