Orlando-based community empowerment and racial equity organization, the Polis Institute (Facebook | Website) has just released a new online tool to help unlock economic and social data based on ZIP Codes.
The new Neighborhood Opportunity Index (NOI) dashboard is meant to benefit decision-makers from philanthropists and policymakers to residents and real estate developers by comparing relevant data like Median Household Income, Unemployment Rate, Personal Crime Index, and more, on a ZIP Code by ZIP Code basis.
Users can zoom into individual neighborhoods via an interactive map where each ZIP Code has been ranked with a score from 1 to 10, with lower scores representing areas of greater opportunity.
According to a release sent out last week, Polis hopes that over time, this data will measure the impact their efforts have had in driving lasting change in their target neighborhoods like East Winter Garden, Eatonville, Parramore, and West Lakes.
