A local group of Star Wars fans will be meeting at Carl Langford Park this Saturday, July 23 at 9 a.m. to practice their lightsaber skills and you’re invited.
The Saber Guild Takodana Temple (Facebook) meets on Wednesdays and Saturdays and they’ve recently opened their practices to the public, and this upcoming session will include a Q&A after the practice in case any passerby get drawn in by the Force of their whirling weapons and need to know more.
If you’d like to join in on the fun, you can follow the instructions they have posted HERE on their Facebook event page, which includes the following:
- Bring a saber with a combat-grade blade so they can hold up to the awesome battling you’ll be putting them through. Don’t have one on hand? They’ll have some loaners available at the practice for you to use.
- You should wear close-toed shoes to avoid getting any twigs, lizards, or mulch stuck in your Birkenstocks.
- Stay hydrated and bring some water. And drink it.
- Masks are currently required due to the recent increase in COVID-19 cases.
