The folks at reThink Your Commute (Facebook | Website) are hosting a two-part event this month where participants can learn how to safely commute on their bikes and then reward themselves with free ice cream.

Scoops and Spokes will feature a ‘Bike Roadeo and Repair Day’ on Saturday, July 30, in the Plaza Live parking lot in the Milk District, where participants will learn some bike safety and repair tips and get fitted for a free bike helmet.

Those who participate in the Bike Roadeo will then be eligible to join in on a group bike ride on August 6th that culminates with free ice cream provided by Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream.

The event is intended for families with school-aged children ages 5-18 and guardians must be present to participate along with their children. Participants must also have their own bicycle.
