According to recent social media posts, downtown watering hole, Lizzy McCormack’s Irish Bar (Facebook | Instagram), will close up shop on September 25, 2022.

According to their posts, the owner, Karen Wall, would like to find a new location to re-open the Irish pub concept, but for now, she found it “… illogical to maintain a drinkery in downtown Orlando with increasing rent and decreasing demand.

Wall shared with Bungalower that, “… after two decades downtown, we feel really sad that we had to tap out, but are optimistic that the right location will become available to reopen Lizzy’s in the future, and in the meantime, we can concentrate on the Mills drinkery and our traveling bartender and event planning.”

Lizzy’s, which has been open for 18 years, will continue to operate under its catering license until further notice and can be booked for private events, and yes, they’ll even bring their infamous “pudding shots” if you ask.

Wall purchased Conrad’s Shanty in Mills 50 back in February 2022 with Lizzy’s GM Roger Painter and they allegedly have “big plans” for that space moving forward, including a blockbuster St. Patrick’s Day event in 2023.
