The Florida Department of Health in Orange County has just issued an Alert for Lake Estelle, immediately adjacent to Advent Health and Loch Haven Park, due to the presence of blue-green algae.

A water sample taken on August 8 indicated a high enough level of toxins in the water to issue the alert and as such, all water contact activities on the lake should cease until further notice, including irrigation of nearby lawns.

The water will continue to be monitored until further notice.
