Alexandre Pato, Orlando City Soccer’s forward, has returned home to Brazil to receive exploratory surgery on his knee following an injury last week.

Pato injured his knee in a game against the New York Red Bulls at an away game in Red Bull Arena when Facundo Torres sent him the ball in an attempt to shoot on the goal when he collided with Dru Yearwood and was carried off the field on a stretcher.

Pato was signed in 2021 and injured his right knee in the first game of the 2021 season, which resulted in him missing 27 matches, before signing the 32-year-old on again for a one-year contract in 2022.

Orlando City has five games remaining in the regular season.
