Aloft Orlando Downtown (Website) hosted a Casino-themed grand opening this week to celebrate the completion of a massive renovation.

The hotel hosted an evening of games, cocktails, light bites, and live artist demonstrations on Tuesday, August 23, to a live string quartet performance from the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra to reveal and celebrate the hotel’s newly refreshed and refinished guest rooms and common areas.

The downtown hotel, located in the former site of the Orlando Utilities Commission just south of City Hall, expanded its onsite event space, added two new concierge lounges, revealed new cocktail offerings, and shared a lineup of live music at the WXYZ Lounge to new technology, and new furniture and fixtures throughout.

The building was built in 1967 but sat empty for years before it was snatched up by a New York investor to be converted into a new hotel in September 2013.
