We told you HERE that the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando (Facebook | Website) was looking to open a temporary facility in Parramore at 777 W. Central Boulevard [GMap], and it appears that that time has come.

The Alliance will be hosting a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for their new Downtown Orlando cat shelter on September 27 at 9 a.m., to celebrate its space to house adoptable cats.

The shelter will serve as an intake location for owner-surrendered cats, and be a downtown base of operations for its volunteer foster and community cat programs.

devastating fire in September 2021 destroyed the organization’s Conroy Road shelter so this new space will allow the agency to provide shelter and community programs in Central Orlando until its new permanent shelter is completed in 2024

During the grand opening event, attendees will be able to take a tour of the new facility and meet some of its (hopefully) short-term cat residents.
