The Downtown Development Board and the Community Redevelopment Agency are seeking a new Assistant Director, to assist the Executive Director in Orlando’s Central Business District.

The mission of the CRA (Website) is to pursue redevelopment and revitalization projects in the downtown core, with an emphasis on housing and cultural arts opportunities, transportation, and more retail development. They’re often on the forefront of public-facing initiatives downtown like the Special Events Grants Program, the Sidewalk Cafe Incentive Program, and the upcoming digital wayfinding signage we told you about last month.

The CRA was created in 1980 and is currently led by Thomas C. Chatmon. The existing Assistant Director, David Barilla, will be remaining with the organization and this position will be for a second Assistant Director, who will work in concert with him, according to a spokesperson at the mayor’s office.

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field, and at least six years of experience in public administration, with at least one of those years being in a supervisor role.

The salary range is listed at $88,296-$115,835 per year.
