The City of Orlando will now waive and reduce certain permit fees for hurricane-related repairs on residential properties through the end of the year.

Permit fees will no longer be required for minor, non-structural repairs for any owner-occupied, single-family homes or duplexes, per a recently passed city resolution. Applicable repairs include replacing damaged air conditioning units, baseboard replacement, carpeting, drywall, non-structural roof shingle inspections and repairs, and electrical outlet and wiring replacement.

Permits will still be required for any roof replacements and rental properties, condos, and apartment units that are not owner-occupied will not be eligible.

The fee waiver resolution will run through the end of the year.
