Taco Kat (Instagram), a new Sonoran-style taco restaurant, has taken over the former Cleo’s Lounge space at 11 S. Court Avenue [GMap] and is scheduled to open this week.
The longtime downtown watering hole was added to the ever-expanding portfolio of Team Market Group in November 2021, and will now house a taco restaurant and an adjacent private club, that people can access via a special “secret” entrance behind a pop machine (see video below).
The restaurant specializes in a variety of Sonoran-style specialties including barbacoa, carne asada, fresh salsas, and more, all with Sonoran flour tortillas made by hand every day in the open-style kitchen. The restaurant, along with all restaurants in the TMG portfolio, is led by in-house corporate chef, Chef Nick Grecco.
The restaurant will open to the public on October 18th.
