When new owners purchased The Woods and The Lodge in September, they told us that they had some big plans for the two popular downtown concepts, but after chatting with the staff, they’ve since decided to keep things mostly the same.

I had a chance to speak with one of the investors in the properties, Jesse Williams, who shared the following:

“We had a staff meeting – we managed to retain everyone upstairs at The Woods – and they asked us if we were changing the name. We all looked at each other and decided the name just didn’t fit, and to keep it as The Woods and The Lodge. These aren’t failing businesses, they’re cool concepts with loyal clientele, so we’re going to keep it the same and just roll with it.”

Williams also noted that they have changed a few things a – namely, there are a lot more plants upstairs in the craft cocktail bar, saying, “We’re going for a Florida garden vibe.” The Woods has been filled with a combination of fake and real plants and an original mural by Andrew Spear is about to be replaced by a new concept in the near future.

The Lodge was closed for some basic renovations that included fresh paint and new floors, and an exorcism of all of the taxidermy that used to line the walls. A large mounted moose head has also been replaced with a neon Moosehead bear sign as a nod.

Both concepts are back open and serving customers, with new events and cocktail menus to come. Follow their socials for more information.
