The Muscovy duck is a large species of duck that is native to Texas and Mexico and South America, despite the name, and is known for its colorful wattled faces.
The ducks tend to breed quickly and even interbreed with native species and are known for lessening the water quality of the lakes they live on if their populations are too high, as they can cause significant damage to landscaping, plants, and shrubs.
Though they’re considered invasive, it’s considered illegal in Florida to capture the ducks and release them someplace else. Private property owners are allowed to kill them though, either on their own or with the help of a hired wildlife trapper.
