A Winter Park location of Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen has closed on 17-92.
The Popeye’s in question was located at the corner of South Orlando Avenue and West Fairbanks Avenue and had been serving cheap fried chicken for years before being slowly edged out by competitors like Chicken Guy, PDQ, Chick ‘n’ Cone, and the upcoming Southern and Righteous Chicken.
Orlando Weekly shared a rumor last week that the owners of the Popeye’s location jumped ship to open a new restaurant closer to UCF, but that was unconfirmed. There are still operating locations on Lee Road, Orange Blossom Trail, West Colonial Drive, Lake Underhill Road, South Semoran Boulevard, and more.
