According to a report by Faiyaz Kara for Orlando Weekly, a fancy Japanese pancake chain will be opening a new location in a downtown Orlando neighborhood.

Fuwa Fuwa (Website), a Japanese pancake chain out of Canada, has allegedly signed a lease on the old Subway building in Colonialtown at 2008 E. Colonial Drive [GMap], after plans for New York Bagel and Deli to open a location there fell through.

Fuwa Fuwa, which means “fluffy fluffy” in Japanese, specializes in souffle pancakes, which are made with egg whites that are whipped to high airy peaks before being cooked at a slow and low temperature, so as to preserve their ultimate fluffy fluffiness. Every pancake is made fresh to order and takes roughly 20 minutes to cook, according to this corporate video below.

An opening date is expected to fall somewhere in February 2023 according to their website.
