United Arts of Central Florida (Website) has just shared a list of 33 recipients of its fourth cycle of Orange County Venue Subsidy Grants, which we told you about HERE in October.
The Orange County Venue Subsidy Grant for Arts and Culture is meant to help bridge the gap between professional venues and organizations which would otherwise be unable to afford the fees associated with renting them, with a maximum request amount of $60,000 or 50 percent of the total venue rental costs.
“This program provides the community with even more intriguing and inclusive programming from Central Florida arts and cultural organizations,” said Jennifer Evins, President & CEO of United Arts. “We are continually thankful to Orange County for partnering with United Arts and providing this funding to create more opportunities for the arts in Central Florida.”
A total of $500,000 will be awarded to this year’s grantees, which includes 14 diverse (non-white) organizations, and will support more than 50 productions and/or exhibitions, in 27 unique venues in Orange County.
“The support of the Venue Subsidy grant is mission critical to provide Central Florida the opportunity to enjoy the highest quality performances by some of today’s most celebrated artists,” said Tammy Weber de Millar, Director at Orlando Flamenco. “Thanks in part to this grant, Orlando Flamenco will be able to once again offer a stellar performance by Flamenco luminary, Carlos Rodriguez, in our January 28, 2023, “Dracula,” but this time, to an audience including hundreds of Orange County Public School students.”
