Local business owner and chef, Ryan Whaley, of the hugely popular Parlor Kitchen (Instagram | Website) has been serving food curbside for the past year (including at our weekly bingo nights in Baldwin Park), and now, ahead of a big break, is asking for some help from the community.

Whaley, who lives in Tampa but commutes to the Orlando area almost daily to run his business, has been invited to participate in the Food Network’s South Beach Fooda and Wine Festival in Miami next month but is looking for sponsorships to help cover his costs. The event is expected to attract roughly 60,000 people including some of the world’s most renowned chefs and culinary personalities.

Whaley estimates that the event will cost him roughly $3,500 to attend, including renting a van to transport his equipment, lodging, and promotional material.

“I am required to serve at least 3,000 portions. This event is incredibly important because it is a major step forward in front celebrities and influencers. I’ve put literal blood, sweat, and many tears into this business. It would be an amazing opportunity to fulfill and represent Orlando at this incredible event!”
