The YMCA of Central Florida has just announced a new membership pricing model it’s calling “Y Your Way” that dramatically drops the price of its membership rates.
The nonprofit gym company stated that the change was based on community feedback asking for more flexibility. The new Y Your Way membership offers three tiers; Base, Plus, and Max, with options starting as low as $29 a month. Click HERE for more information on the tiers.
The previous cost for a single adult was $72 a month.
“At a time when it seems like the cost of most everything is increasing, the Y is
lowering its membership price so we can better serve our community,” said Kevin
Bolding, YMCA of Central Florida President and CEO. “The new Y Your Way
membership, along with our income-based financial assistance offered through
donations we receive, will help ensure that all kids, families, and adults have access
and can benefit from life-changing programs at the Y. From drowning prevention
and youth sports to health and wellness classes, the Y has something for everyone,
and we are excited that more of our neighbors will now be able to experience this
positive impact across Central Florida.”
The new YMCA in the Packing District was supposed to open late last year but hit some unexpected construction delays that pushed back its opening schedule. According to the YMCA of Central Florida, the new Leonard and Marjorie Williams Family YMCA is in the final stages of applying for a temporary certificate of occupancy and wrapping up some final construction items. They expect to have a new opening date to announce in the coming weeks.
