Artisan popsicle-maker, The Pop Parlour (Facebook Website) has closed its downtown location.

The shop, which was located at 431 E Central Boulevard [GMap] in the MAA Parkside building near Lake Eola, opened in the former Hyppo Popsicle Shop in 2014. According to a recent post by owner Brandon Chandler on social media, he made the decision to close when the landlord shared that they would be raising the rent.

Their last day of business was January 22.

The Pop Parlour has another location out at UCF which will continue to operate and it could even come back as a ghost kitchen and pop-ups at local events this summer.

Chandler has also shared that he is working on two new concepts at the moment, one of which is a wine bar at The Yard at Ivanhoe called Arden (Website). We’ll be sharing more on that project soon.
