WPRK 91.5 FM (Website), Rollins College’s on-site radio station, will be participating in a campus-wide fundraising event on February 14 with a 10-hour marathon of live band performances.

WPRK will be hosting live, local bands from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. on 91.5 FM as well as on various social media platforms and online at WPRK.org. Donations gathered during that time will help to fund initiatives like:

  • A two-week show archive for listeners to hear after they’ve aired live.
  • Student audio engineering training to help air more live performances onsite and at community events.
  • Upgrading computers and software.

The student-run station is hoping to reach at least 70 individual donors, a landmark that will unlock an additional $2,500 contribution from Rollins alum and National Radio Hall of Fame broadcaster, Christopher “Mad Dog” Russo of Class ’82.

The public is welcome to join WPRK in Dave’s Boathouse, the bar/restaurant located in the downstairs Cornell Campus Center on Rollins’s campus to check out the bands performing via livestream. No purchase is necessary to attend, however, WPRK will be collecting donations to support the station.
