On Sunday, February 19, Orange County Library System (Website) will host author, James Beard Award-winning chef, and former Top Chef contestant, Kwame Onwuachi for a discussion of his first cookbook, “My America: Recipes from a Young Black Chef.

Kwame Onwuachi is the former executive chef at Kith/Kin and owner of the Philly Wing Fry franchise in Washington, D.C. Onwuachi is recognized as one of Food & Wine’s Best New Chefs and a 30 Under 30 honoree by both Zagat and Forbes.

Onwuachi’s published his first book, “Notes From a Young Black Chef,”  in 2019. The memoir details Onwuachi’s experience working his way up from the bottom of the culinary food chain.

There will be a book sale and signing following the event provided by locally-owned bookstore, Kizzy’s Books & More (Website). The event is free to attend, but registration is recommended. To register, click HERE.
