A tuition-free Montessori-inspired preschool will open on Monday, March 20, in Mercy Drive thanks to funding from Amazon founder, Jeff Bezos.
The new Bezos Academy (Website) will provide free schooling to 40 preschoolers between the ages of 3-5 at the Village on Mercy, a multifamily affordable housing community owned by Ability Housing (Website), a nonprofit affordable housing developer.
The Bezos Academy at Village on Mercy is currently accepting applications. Families earning up to 400% of the Federal Poverty Level with children born between September 2, 2018, and September 1, 2019, are eligible to apply for the remainder of the 2022-2023 school year with applications opening for the next school year later this spring and summer.
