Tommy Bahama will be bringing one of its bar/restaurant/retail chimera concepts to Winter Park Village.
Specializing in higher-end, retired dad-wear and divorcee boat captain chic, Tommy Bahama has traditionally sold island-themed sports and swimwear. The new Marlin Bar concept, which has nothing to do with the Miami sports team, is part of a growing trend of sip-and-shop retail experiences that build off lifestyle brands and people’s penchant to spend more while tipsy.
According to a News-Press review in 2017, early versions of the Marlin Bar functioned similarly to a Chipotle, with a single counter service to order your drinks and food, which will be delivered to you wherever you choose to sit. In fact, they even referred to it in the review as “the world’s fanciest Chipotle counter – with booze.” Though the location in Fort Lauderdale seems to have been stepped up a bit.
The fancy retailer plans to bring the sixth Florida location of its Tommy Bahama Marlin Bar to Winter Park’s open-air mall by the end of the year.
