We told you HERE that the City of Winter Park was looking for some feedback on possible names for a new city park being built on the former Progress Point property at Orange Avenue and Denning Drive.

Options for the new $3.1 million, 1.4-acre park included Progress Point Park and Gateway Park, but in the end, Seven Oaks Park was the winner; named after seven large live oaks that were installed there last year.

702 people voted on the new name, with 485 of those votes going to the winner, which will be sent to the City Commission, to be voted on this Wednesday.

The project is expected to officially break ground next month.
