A former church building at 1123 W. Fairbanks Avenue [GMap] in Fairview Shores, on the edge of College Park and Winter Park, will soon be home to a local theater company.

The White Elephant Theatre Company (Facebook | Website), founded by local entertainer Robert Crane, is scheduled to open on May 5 with a variety of musical and non-musical performances in a new flex performance space. It will have 100 seats and will be available for other groups to host their productions and events.

The theatrical company will also be presenting a show at Orlando Fringe starting on May 17 called “Julian Bond: Unscripted,” and according to the event poster, it will be a “fully improvised, audience-directed, musical trainwreck.

White Elephant is also currently looking for local pianists, vocalists, and live musical cabaret entertainers to join their new cabaret series, “Clock Out and Cabaret.” If interested, you can email them at [email protected] for more information.

A grand opening is scheduled for mid-June.
