Mexican hotdog slinger, Cholo Dogs (Instagram | Website), will be bringing back its hit belly flop contest on May 6 in Baldwin Park.
The event premiered last year at Hourglass Brewing in Longwood but will be hosted in the heart of Baldwin Park this year, on New Broad Street, in front of Tactical Brewing Co. (Instagram | Website).
The street will be shut down to traffic for the majority of the day to host a pop-up market of over 10 local makers, food trucks, music, and beer from Tactical Brewing, including a special Lemon Lime Shandy in honor of the occasion- seen below.
The event will kick off at 2 p.m. and run through 6 p.m. The actual belly flop contest will commence at 5 p.m. sharp. Contestants can register to flop for $25 and will be judged on creativity, sound, splash, impact, and overall showmanship. Costumes are encouraged but not required. Click HERE to register.
The winner of the Franco’s Flop Fest 2023 will walk away with a special trophy, a branded belly flop beach towel, two free hot dogs, a special Franco’s Flop Fest t-shirt, and a one-year Bungalower Buddy membership.
