Just like a game of restaurant news telephone, you’ve likely already heard that Darden Restaurants, the corporation that owns Bahama Breeze, The Capital Grille, Olive Garden, LongHorn, and Yard House, has purchased Ruth’s Chris.
The high-end steakhouse chain. owned by Winter Park-based Ruth’s Hospitality Group, Inc., had 154 locations at the time of this post and was purchased for an estimated $715 million.
Darden is one of the 50 largest private employers in the nation with over 180,000 team members in over 1,850 restaurants. They are Central Florida’s second-largest publicly traded company.
The deal is expected to be completed by this June.
