EDIT: We originally stated the show starts at 10 p.m. but it will start at dusk every day and run until 10 p.m. We apologize for the mistake.
The City of Orlando will launch a new projection activation at its newest park space, Luminary Green in Creative Village, on Wednesday, May 10, called “Luminary Nights on the Green.”
The new 20-minute show will project animations onto a white “ORLANDO” sign/sculpture that is set to music that’s broadcast into the park. The animations feature Orlando icons, local nature, theme park tidbits, and food/hospitality scenes. The show will run every night at dusk and run through 10 p.m. at the park.
“I’m so excited to unveil Luminary Nights on the Green for our community and further grow the diverse experiences our downtown has to offer. Having this one-of-a-kind feature, you won’t find anywhere else, takes these amenities to another level, further enhancing our downtown and providing another attraction for people to come check out in addition to creative village, our new park, nearby dining and all the other great offerings we have.”
– MAYOR DYER
The graphics will be changed out seasonally and for special events and holidays.
Martin Hudson, an Urban Project Manager with the City of Orlando and lead on the Luminary Green project, shared with Bungalower in a previous interview that the projection technology being tested at this park will be expanded and enhanced at the City’s much larger project, the Under-i urban park. More on that HERE.
