Summer at your Library 2023

Orange County Library System (Website) has unveiled its full slate of programs, classes, and events for its annual summer program, Summer at Your Library.

The theme for this year’s event- All Together Now: Kindness, Friendship and Unity – seems fitting given the astounding number of offerings for all age groups, available both in-person and online.

As always, a primary focus for the library is literacy, and this Summer OCLS is pulling out all the stops to incentivize reading for early learners, kids, and teens with prize giveaways and goodie bags for all those who log their reading with OCLS’ online reading tracker, Beanstack.

Adult learners also have plenty of opportunities to celebrate Summer at Your Library with stimulating craft events, technology classes, cooking demonstrations, and of course, programming from the digital arts and STEM experts at the Dorothy Lumley Melrose Center.

Adults can also participate in their own reading challenge, and in the process, earn prizes from local sponsors including Sam Flax (Website), Foxtail Coffee (Website), Ethos Vegan Kitchen (Website), and Ivanhoe Park Brewing (Website).

Summer at your Library runs June 3 – July 29, but registration has already begun. Visit the Summer at Your Library page HERE for more details and to register today!

Of course, to participate, you’ll need an Orange County Library System library card. Sign up for yours online HERE, or visit any Orange County Library locations to register for a card in person.
