The Florida Department of Transportation is hosting a community engagement meeting on Tuesday, June 4 at 10 a.m. to discuss the ongoing roadwork on South Orange Avenue.
Construction started between Grant and Gore streets back in January 2024, adding roadway improvements like new crosswalks, enhanced pedestrian lighting, new curb lines and sidewalks, and repaving of the roadway.
The 1-mile $4.7 million project has drawn a fair amount of criticism from local business owners who have been hit hard by the impeded access to their buildings, increased road traffic, and general chaos rippling outward from the project. But it’s supposed to end in December 2024.
Representatives from FDOT will be available for your hazing pleasure and to field questions, comments, and/or concerns.
The event will be held at the Hampton Inn and Suites Orlando/Downtown South, at 43 Columbia Street [GMap]. Click HERE for more information.
