A new Japanese dessert concept called KORI Bakery and Dessert (Instagram) is opening in a newly-built retail strip at 725 N. Mills Avenue, near the Colonial Drive intersection. The site where the old 7-Eleven was demolished back in 2020.

Kori will specialize in Japanese sweets like fancy iced drinks, kakigori shaved ice, and shokupan loaves. The name, is taken from the Japanese word “ice,” or kori. They are working in partnership with KOS Coffee, an Orlando-based roastery, for their menu of teas and specialty coffee and drinks.

The interior was designed by Michael Wenrich Architects (Instagram), and you can explore the renderings below.

Kori Bakery and Dessert is expected to open sometime this summer.
