EDIT: We originally stated that Maya Valdivia was the Leasing Director at Lincoln Property Company but that was incorrect. She is the leasing manager for Eola View.
One of Orlando’s oldest social organizations, the University Club (Website), closed its downtown clubhouse in 2023. The members-only University Club was founded in downtown Orlando in 1926. The invitation-only club sold its original building at 125 E. Pine Street [GMap] to a developer back in 2015, which replaced it with the new Modera Central.
As part of the deal, they were gifted a new 33,000 SF clubhouse in 2019, complete with a full-service dining room and bar, a kitchen, flexible meeting space, basketball, racquetball and squash courts, and a ground-floor fitness facility.
A high cost of membership, an aging membership base, and a pause in downtown office workers post-pandemic led to a steep decline in the club’s membership according to former University Club members at the time. Which led to the club ultimately closing on September 15, 2023.
The space is now the home of Eola View (Website), a new events venue concept led by Maya Valdivia, who also happens to be the Leasing Director at Lincoln Property Company. The interior has been updated and retouched to make it more conducive to event rentals on the third and fourth floors, with multiple spaces available for any number of occasions from private luncheons and dinners to large and small weddings, including a large patio space overlooking Rosalind Avenue and Lake Eola, a champagne bar, and more. Click HERE for more information on their rental options.
The first and second floors are currently being prepped to be converted into a new food hall concept called Eola Food Hall (Instagram) led by Lincoln Property Company (who are also building another food hall concept on Church Street). The construction company has not been named for that project yet, so a timeline is yet to be announced.
The former University Club had a special hidden salon and spa area tucked away just for women members that will be converted into a new speakeasy concept as well.
